Rule 4
Ranks and Posts in the Armed Police Service
: (1) There are following ranks in the Armed Police Service:-
(a) Gazetted (b) Gazetted (2) There will be following posts in the gazetted ranks of the Armed Police Service:-
(a) Special Category – Inspector General of Armed Police – Additional Inspector General of Armed Police (b) First Grade – Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police – Senior Superintendent of Armed Police (c) Second Class – Superintendent of Armed Police – Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police (d) Third Grade – Inspector of Armed Police (3) The following posts shall be in the Gazetted Grade of the Armed Police Service:-
(a) First Class – Senior Deputy Inspector of Armed Police – Deputy Inspector of Armed Police (b) 2nd Class – Assistant Inspector of Armed Police
(c) Third Grade – Armed Police Senior Constable – Armed Police Constable – Armed Police Assistant Constable (d) Class IV – Armed Constabulary or Recruit (e) Uncategorized – Armed Police Attendant or equivalent (4) There will be the following posts in various groups and sub-groups of the Armed Police Service:-
(a)   General Group, General Sub-Group from Assistant Armed Police to Inspector General of Armed Police,
(b) from Inspector General of Armed Police to Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police in the General Group, Law Sub-Group,
(c)   from Senior Constable of Armed Police to Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police in General Group, Accounts Sub-Group, and
(d) From Armed Police Constable to Additional Inspector General of Armed Police in Technical Group.
